How to Apply Temporary Tattoos: A Step-by-Step Guide

At Fake Tattoos, we want to ensure that your experience with our temporary tattoos is hassle-free and enjoyable. Applying our tattoos is simple and straightforward, and this guide will walk you through the process to achieve the best results.

Materials You'll Need:

  1. Clean, dry skin
  2. Temporary tattoo sheet from FakeTattoos.com
  3. Scissors
  4. Damp cloth or sponge
  5. Baby oil or rubbing alcohol (for removal)

Application Steps:

Preparation: Start with clean, dry skin. Gently cleanse the area where you intend to apply the temporary tattoo to remove any oils, lotions, or dirt. Dry the area thoroughly.

Cutting: Use scissors to carefully cut out the desired tattoo from the sheet. Leave a small margin around the design to ensure easy handling.

Peel Off Clear Film: Peel off the clear protective film from the top of the tattoo sheet. Ensure you're only removing the clear film and not the tattoo design itself.

Placement: Place the tattoo face down onto the desired area of your skin. Ensure it's properly positioned before proceeding.

Application: Press a damp cloth or sponge over the back of the tattoo paper. Hold it in place for about 20-30 seconds, ensuring the entire tattoo is thoroughly dampened.

Peeling: Gently lift a corner of the tattoo paper to check if the tattoo has transferred. If it hasn't, press the damp cloth back down and hold for a few more seconds. Once the tattoo has transferred, carefully peel off the paper to reveal the design.

Drying: Allow the tattoo to air dry for a minute or two. Avoid touching or rubbing the tattoo during this time.

Setting: For best results, lightly pat the tattoo with a dry cloth to set it in place. Avoid excessive rubbing or movement, especially while the tattoo is still damp.

Removal:

To remove the temporary tattoo, gently rub the area with baby oil, rubbing alcohol, or a makeup remover-soaked cotton pad. Start from the edge of the tattoo and work inward. The tattoo should start to lift off your skin.

Once the tattoo is loosened, you can gently wipe it away with a clean cloth or rinse with warm water. Avoid using excessive force or scrubbing, as this could irritate the skin.

Tips:

  • Avoid applying tattoos over cuts, rashes, or irritated skin.
  • Keep the tattoo away from oil-based products as they may interfere with adhesion.
  • For a longer-lasting result, avoid areas with a lot of friction or movement.
